This is from the Workers International Vanguard League in
South Africa. A video of the Norwegian train drivers that
are striking a little more each day was available on the
British Stop the War Coalition website, however, hackers
have temp. disabled it. Please send this to your lists.

A large number of activists and organisations who have
been campaigning against the genocide, will be meeting in
Cape Town, at Community House 41 Salt River rd, Salt River
at 17h30 on Monday 12 January 2009 to discuss concrete
solidarity support for the Palestinians under attack.
There has been a call for an international general strike
against the genocide. The meeting is open to all activists
and interested democratically minded people.
Having heard that the Norwegian transport union is giving
a lead by already implementing a 2 minute work stoppage
each day, and each day the genocide continues, to add an
extra 2 minutes, the carrying forward of this campaign
throughout South Africa is on the agenda.
A press conference will be held at 19h00 on the outcome of
the meeting (at the same venue).
In the words of the Palestinian General Trade Union, this
campaign belongs to us all. for further information and

Norwegian Train Drivers Strike For Gaza

From the Stop the War Coaition in the UK:

The Norwegian Locomotive Drivers Union has shown what
trade
unions in Britain should be doing now: taking action in
support of the Palestinians in Gaza.
On Thursday 8 January all trains in the whole of Norway,
and
all trams and subways in Oslo, stood still for two minutes
in
protest against the Israeli invasion. The union issued the
following information for passengers:
Because of the situation in the Gaza Strip, the Locomotive
Drivers Union in Norway has decided to demonstrate our
solidarity with the Palestinian people. This will be
organised
by adding two more minutes of stoppage at the station. The
same action applies to all passenger trains in Norway
simultaneously. We demand the immediate withdrawal of all
Israeli troops from the Palestinian territory. Thank you
for
your understanding.
