Dear Friend,

This week many of us will receive a so-called "economic stimulus check" 
in the mail.  Let's face it---this is a painful and shameful joke. 

As badly as we all need money---this tiny amount of $$ change cannot 
compare to the millions of dollars that have already been handed over to 
bail out the 
<http://www.stopforeclosuresandevictions.org/donate.shtml>banks while we 
are losing our homes and apartments---nor can it make a real dent in the 
rising cost of food, gasoline, and utilities---nor change the fate of 
thousands of workers who are facing layoffs and wage cuts.

We know that each of you need this money---but if you are angry---really 
angry and fed up---now is the time to get even with Bush and the 
banks---by helping the newly formed and fast growing National Network to 
Stop Foreclosures and Evictions fight back.

The only real solution is to build a people's movement that will fight 
to win a moratorium on foreclosures, evictions and layoffs---that will 
roll back food, gas and utility prices.  The billions spent on the war 
on Iraq---must be spent on health care and jobs. 

To accomplish this we need unity---which means no more Sean Bell's---no 
more racism and immigrant bashing.  We must all come together to make 
this happen.
